Pencils
Graphite pencils come in a range of hardness denoted by a code like HB. I use a selection for 4H to 8B to create subtle or harsh tones. I then blend and smudge with stump (a pointed roll of compressed paper), putty eraser, sandpaper and a bit of chamois leather to create the drawing you see here
